Pay it forward, floaty style!

I'm thinking about Christmas (I know, it's only September - but to be fair, you lot started it! I had all these emails about had I done my Christmas cards yet - in AUGUST! lol!) and thinking about how the best bit is watching someone open a pressie you carefully pick for them and KNOW that you got it right.
I'm very lucky in that I have so much love in my life, from my wonderful family who take such good care of me and extend such generosity, and from my friends who put up with me being unable to commit to anything until the last minute in case I'm not well enough to travel (or sit up) or cancel things at the last minute because of the same reasons.  But recently I discovered a new source of love; my fabulous floaty folks who come and keep me company on our facebook page at www.facebook.com/littlefloatingcraftco and are so thoughtful and caring even though most have never met me.  It's amazing.  I now have extra friends all over the world and they are real and honest and true and I can tell them when I feel bad, but more importantly THEY can tell ME when they're feeling bad too. I never would have expected that in a million years when I set up this little page at the beginning of the year.
I never thought I would cope with sharing my work with people either - that I would get excited even about doing that!  But there we are!

So what my rambling boils down to, is I want to say thank you, but I hope that I can help YOU say thank you to someone too.

Once we get to 1500 lovely floaty likes on the facebook page I'm going to ask you to add a comment to this blog (can't do it on FB - against the rules - sorry peeps, I know it'd be easier...) about who you'd like to say thank you to (you don't need to tell me why, some things are personal and if they're worthy to you then they're worthy to me) and what kind of pressie you think they'd like from the following options:  a needlebook, a makeup bag, a collection of cards, a jewellery set. And any fave colours/styles that person would like.

After one week (I will let you know cut off dates/times on the page) I will use a random selector online to pick one name from the list and get in touch with the nominator to sort out sending the pressie. It can be an annonymous gift, or I can explain that they were nominated by you (but none of their personal details shared!). If you want to shout about something fab that someone's done for you though that's absolutely dandy too! I don't want to pry though!  It could be something like someone makes you a cuppa without being asked, someone did something special for someone else you love, or just someone who's friendship or love means the world to you! It's completly up to you!

Now lets see how soon we can get to 1500 likes and get the ball rolling! ;o)
Lots of floaty love!

What a lovely idea from a lovely person. I'd like to nominate my friend Elle. She has had lots of bad times in her life but she never let's it show. She is so generous and kind and works her little fingers off making beautiful healing jewellery to try and help other people. She is always the first to offer her products in any charity auctions and always sends gifts 'just because' I think she would ADORE any of your beautiful items. Much love xxx

  3. This is such a beautiful idea Kirsty. One of the things that has bowled me over since I started following crafty folk on facebook a few months ago is how generous and supportive they are to their customers, fans and each other. One such person is Kirsty Hackers. She is absolutely selfless in raising money for various charities including Autism awareness by making and selling beautiful jewellery, and she also donates items to others who are trying to raise money for their good causes. Kirsty is also very supportive to me and my husband who is on the Autistic spectrum and although we have never met, Chris and I feel we have made a good friend. I know that Kirsty is reluctant to take credit for what she does but she is amazingly inspirational and so I would like to nominate Kirsty Hackers to receive something pretty from LFCC. Love and hugs, Claud xxx

  4. I'd love to nominate my friend Lucia Watson. She's been supportive through 9 years that I've known her, put her own opinions to one side and been a true good person to me and John. She's always available to babysit, or pick the kids up from school at short notice. She's always so generous with her time and love and she makes me feel worthy of her friendship. She's a real gem of a person.
I think she'd enjoy receiving a jewellery set, quite antique-like, and muted. She's a bit grungy!!

  5. I would like to nominate my friend Maria. She runs a charity providing treats for children with life threatening or shortening illness. Despite being very ill herself and having had 19 operations to date, she fundraises the £2500 per month virtually single handed. Would be lovely for her to receive a nice jewellry set, or anything in fact, just something to say "hey, well done, people really appreciate you and your work"

  6. There is a floaty lady I would be honoured to nominate. She has become a firm friend through fb and I love her dearly. She makes beautiful crafts and jewellery. I have one problem though, I don't think she is eligible for this :( I would like to do something though to say thank you to her for her warmth, wonderful sense of humour & her friendship. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

  7. Leaving cool pictures and messages for her to wake up to from the other side of the world is a wonderfully appreciated thing! Unless you mean the lovely Katie at FVD in which case I think she'd like a beach bag for her honeymoon! :o)) xxx

  10. I would like to nominate my daughter for something special. She is 23; she has ME and because of that she had to give up her studies for a Maths degree. She has since only been able to find the occasional temporary employment. Her illness and lack have employment are having quite a negative effect on her young life. No matter how much Mum & Dad try to help there is no substitute for feeling self worth.
